Freeswitch Issue

Hello,

I tried to install newfies dialer with the scripts you provide on a Linux 12.04 Server.
the script didn't install freeswitch at all, but Newfies apps were installed.
After that, i tried to install freeswitch with the script you provide in the advanced guide :

it installed freeswitch, but the problem now, is that i'm getting a problem when trying to acces the fs_cli :
[ERROR] fs_cli.c:1493 main() Error Connecting [Socket Connection Error]

netstat -nlp | grep 8021 shows nothing.
pgrep -lf freeswitch shows nothing.
lsof -iudp -ac freeswitch show nothing.

But still, i can start and stop freeswitch, the event socket module isnt commented out on the modules.xml file.

You might want to install via our Newfies install script.
Pastebin the output of the install script this might help us to identify issues.

Hello Areski,

Thats what i did, i first installed the script from the beginner guide, but the script didnt install freeswitch.
So i moved to the FreeSwitch installation script from the newfies documentation.

Is there a way to revert the whole installation, and start with a new installation ? it's a dedicated server, and OS reinstall will take time..

Hi I have run into the same problem.
Installed as per the documentation.
Everything seemed to install correctly but there was no freeswitch installed, there was no /usr/local/freeswitch directory.
So I went into the /usr/src/freeswitch and run:
make install
this is what I got:
aking in lang ...
making in lang/cmulex ...
making in lang/usenglish ...
making in lang/cmu_us_kal ...
making in lang/cmu_time_awb ...
making in lang/cmu_us_kal16 ...
gcc: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1)

The interesting part is that /usr/local/freeswitch is now there and I can start the service.
I am not sure if anything is missing or usable.

I will recommend to have an attentive look when running the install script to see what is failing. If you give us details on the failure we can certainly help you to fix it.

Thank you.
The scripts completes without any errors but then the Freeswitch is not installed.
So there are no errors I can see when the script runs.
I can definitely rerun it and I did but no errors show up.
What logs can I email you to help you fix this issue?

Trust me here, if you had a problem with the installation it's very likely an error show up when running the install script.
There is a lot of output so it can be hard to see it.

Hi I have run the install script again and you are correct the errors are there though they scroll from the screen as next module gets installed.
The error is the same as in my previous email though.
I would appreciate any input.
