Cannot Change localhost IP address

Postby Neurotec » Thu Oct 17, 2013 6:12 am

PLEASE HELP!!!

Please don't tell me you've already covered it or "search the forum" I have wasted days on this and I know it's a simple fix but I cannot find out how.

I lost the IP Address I used at installation as my Ubuntu machine was on DHCP. No big deal, I changed the setting_local.py file and /interfaces/network file but I cannot find anywhere I can change the default localhost file Newfies used during install.

To the best of my recollection I never had an option to enter one manually.

The IP address in the address bar at the top is the one I need to use.

The one at the bottom of the window is the one I cannot change.

Hi

You need to edit settings_local.py, adding your IP address (192.168.1.25) to the ALLOW_HOSTS line, restart supervisor and celery, then access your system with http://192.168.1.25:8008

You can edit the splash page link to http://192.168.1.25:8008 in /var/www/newfies/index.html (in Ubuntu), the file location may be different for CentOS

I'd also advise putting Newfies-Dialer on a fixed IP address so you don't have to do this modification again.
