Freeswitch has a SMS mod which allows the sending of text messages. It would be a great add-on to have newfie-dialer also be able to send sms messages, with tracking like phone messages.

Great product we see a lot of potential use in our organization.... Great work.

mod_sms provide a way to route messages in freeswitch, potentially allowing one to build a powerful chatting system like in XMPP using using SIP SIMPLE on SIP clients.

If you are willing to send SMS to the PSTN then I might advice to implement SMS gateway and SMS routing directly into Newfies-Dialer without passing through Freeswitch.
